What People Say
Most Liked
Julio's Grill is celebrated for its breakfast tacos, which locals swear by. The wide variety of tacos, including the tasty carne asada and brisket options, garners rave reviews—especially during breakfast hours. The cozy and casual atmosphere, along with friendly service, makes dining here feel like visiting family. Regulars particularly appreciate the quick service during peak hours, where despite large orders, food comes out piping hot without an excessive wait.
Additionally, patrons love the sweet tea, a local favorite with a Texas twist. The fajita plate stands out, featuring savory, char-grilled meat that pairs perfectly with their homemade salsa and sides like charro beans. The overall vibe, from the decor to the efficient staff, enhances the dining experience, ensuring it's not just about food but about community.
Most Disliked
While Julio's Grill receives overwhelmingly positive feedback, some diners note the occasional challenge during peak hours, especially on weekends. With the busiest day being Saturday at 10 AM, it can get very crowded, leading to a longer wait for those dropping in without reservations. Although the staff handles the rush well, those who prefer quieter environments may want to choose off-peak hours for dining. A few guests expressed disappointment at the limited dinner service, finding lunch much more robust in options.
Some diners mention that while most dishes are excellent, they found certain items such as the shrimp tacos to be average compared to the standout breakfast tacos. Minor inconsistencies like these are rarely reported but can be noted by frequent visitors looking for perfection in every bite.

Excellent food and excellent service. Ordered the “Trashcan” taco. Well worth it. Going to remember this place next time I’m out here.

Julio’s is hands down a staple in our community! The staff is always warm, friendly, and genuinely accommodating…it’s the kind of place where you feel right at home the second you walk in. Their food? Phenomenal. We’re religious about getting breakfast tacos from there, and they never disappoint. The best part? Even when they’re slammed, the wait is never long. On my last visit, a woman ahead of me ordered over 100 tacos (yes, 100+), and somehow mine still came out hot and fast. That kind of efficiency, paired with small-town charm and unbeatable flavor, is exactly why Julio’s will always have our business. Highly recommend trying their sweet tea! It slaps, Texas style! And honestly, you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. We love all their breakfast tacos, the fajita plate, and enchiladas. They also have my favorite rice, charro beans, and SALSA in town.

Really surprised about this place some friends of mine. Some local attorneys took me here and between just how happy and friendly all the staff are how country and inviting the atmosphere is and how truly delicious that fajita was especially considering it took them next to no time to make it I’m really surprised about this little place right here. Uvalde is starting to show its colors and I am amazed, not surprised.
